Dr. Latoria Pearson-Whitfield
Dr. Latoria Pearson-Whitfield, fondly known as “Tori,” is a compassionate Licensed Social
Worker, with extensive experience in serving adults, children, families, and individuals returning
to the community after incarceration. She received her Doctorate in Social Work from Catholic
University in 2023. Additional educational accomplishments include a Bachelor’s in Psychology
from Catholic University and a Master’s in Social Work from Howard University.
As a Licensed Social Worker, Dr. Pearson-Whitfield specializes in Crisis Intervention, Behavioral
Health, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Community Reentry Planning and Therapy for
returning citizens and their families. Her commitment to empowering individuals and fostering
resilience shines through her strengths-based and person-centered approach. Rather than
overly focusing on problems, she emphasizes clients’ inherent strengths and resourcefulness.
She believes that everyone possesses unique qualities that can be harnessed for growth and
healing. By highlighting these strengths, she helps clients build a positive mindset with the aim
of being intentional about improving their overall well-being.
Dr. Pearson-Whitfield places clients at the center of their therapeutic journey, and she
